COLIC

I am so exhausted! Will has reflux and colic. The Dr just put him on Zantac , so we will see. When he is not sleeping or eating, he is crying! I will take all the advice you have on soothing babies with colic. HELP

I will download Easter pictures in the morning, but right now I am going to sleep!

CONGRATULATIONS! I have been MIA from the blogging world with so much going on around here.

Hopefully the zantac will work. Jackson had the same problem and was on zantac. He eventually grew out of it, but those first few months were rough.

Hang in there. can't wait to see more photos.

You have a beautiful family, and I'm sorry to hear your little guy is suffering from colic. Been there, done that and it is not easy and wears both mommy and baby down. We always found that having pressure on the belly seemed to help. My husband was better at the colic hold because of having larger arms--he would hold our daughter on his forearm so that her belly/body was laying the length of it, and he could hold her chin/head in his hand. This always seemed to settle her. Of course, it still doesn't give you a break because you are having to hold, but it did give her relief from the pains.

Put warm (not hot) water in an adult size hot water bottle, wrap a diaper or receiving blanket around it, and put baby tummy down on the hot water bottle. He'll sleep until the water gets cold. If you don't want to lay him on his tummy, drap it over his tummy while he is lying on his back. Also raise the head of the crib up so he is sleeping on a slanted angle bed. Helps with the digestion. Finally, I found an electric swing also really helped. Good luck.

I had a baby with colic and one with reflux. Gripe water (sold at babies r us and walgreens etc) helped each of them. Colic only: I did a tummy massage (you can google it, they sell onsies with instructions); lay him on his back and cycle his legs like he's riding a bike (it works out any excess gas causing problems), warm towel on the tummy, I let mine sleep on her tummy, it was the only way she would sleep; even sometimes just fresh air outside might help. I know a lady whose hubby is a chiropractor and he did adjustments on their son. I would have tried that if I had known it at the time. Goodluck, it can be very trying.

Oh poor everybody! Our youngest had reflux + colic and I totally feel for you...
The Zantac worked wonders on our pricess, she was also on Maalox and Mylicon drops. The magic formula also included Nutramigen formula (a pricey, stinky hypoallergenic "milk" which we now adore bc it makes our princess feel MUCH better) thickened with rice cereal... Plus we got rid of the bassinette and she slept in her cradle swing for 4 whole months :-)
Another trick up our sleeves - an old gym sock filled with rice - warmed a bit, on her tummy... Good luck!

This is my first time to comment but I can relate! Gripe Water and mylicon drops (the off brand only????) worked for us. We also had taken a massage class that taught some techniques that helped. I was nursing so I cut out cow's milk and really watched what else bothered their tummies. I have heard that chiropractors are wonderful for colic and ear infections.
Hope you find some help and you can get some rest! :)

OH NO! My Will had colic and reflux too and I wanted to jump out a window. I would definitely try a chiropractor. We did not know back then (he is almost 13) but I know that has helped many of my friends. We purchased a sleep vibrator thingy that attached to the bottom of the crib and worked wonderfully for sustained sleep. I cannot recall what it was called an d we have long since passed it onto many people and it helped them all.
